Welcome to the first web edition of the Hot 10 Countdown. If you missed the show, this is the place to go. We’ll recap some of the happenings you missed and the top songs this week.
Starting off at 10 is Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things’. Down from 9 last week, this heartfelt ballad was actually inspired by Boone’s journey of self-discovery, especially after he walked away from American Idol to focus on his own music.
At 9 is ‘Taste’ from Sabrina Carpenter, down from 8 last week. One of two entries for her this week as Please Please Please slips off the 10 this week.
Number 8 brings us the debut of BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s new collab with Bruno Mars, entitled ‘APT.’ It’s based off of a South Korean drinking game The song’s chorus is built around the game’s rhythmic chant. It’s one of two debuts this week.
Number 7 brings us a song that’s been on the charts for 63 weeks! Teddy Swims with ‘Lose Control’, down from 6 last week
Number 6 is Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s song of the summer ‘I Had Some Help,’ With the CMA awards coming up next week, it’ll be interesting how many awards they can rack up for the song.
Leaving the Top 3 this week is Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’. It drops to 5 this week. Funny enough, one of the most worn costumes this Halloween was her glittery dress she wears on the Short n’ Sweet tour.
Number 4 belongs to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ duet ‘Die with a Smile,’ I’ve been seeing all those clips from their performance in Las Vegas, and I have to say that is indeed true showmanship.
Down 1 from last week, is Billie Eilish’s ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER,’ leading off our top three. She just held her ‘Overheated’ climate change summit in Atlanta last weekend. The first one she hosted in North America. She’ll be in nearby Cincinnati on Friday with her ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ tour.
Now for some sad news, Shaboozey has come down to number two with ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy),’ after 15 weeks at the coveted number one spot. One of the longest rookie reigns at the top spot. So now the question is, who’s the person that took his spot?
It would be the second Hot 10 debut this week of Morgan Wallen’s ‘Love Somebody,’ If my records are right, this is his third number one as a solo artist. Congratulations to Morgan!
But, will Wallen’s reign at number one last long? Tune into next week’s Hot 10 Countdown to find out. Monday morning at 9a on Hot Hits 95.3
