Three Days Grace Reunites with Original Frontman for Energetic New Era; New Album Early 2025

In a recent interview, Neil Sanderson, drummer for THREE DAYS GRACE, discussed the band’s newly released single “Mayday.” This track marks the first release since the return of original frontman Adam Gontier. Sanderson, who left the band in 2013, is now sharing lead vocals with Matt Walst, who has been the band’s singer for the past ten years. The single “Mayday” was produced by Zakk Cervini and Dan Lancaster, with Howard Benson handling vocal production.

The band also released a visual directed by CiRCUS HEaD to accompany the track. Sanderson explained that the new THREE DAYS GRACE album is almost complete, with some recording still needed. The band is taking a flexible approach, willing to replace existing songs with new ones if necessary. They are also preparing for a world tour and working on video components for their live shows. Sanderson mentioned that the band has adapted to remote recording and collaboration, a skill honed during the COVID pandemic.

He highlighted the unique vocal strengths of Matt and Adam, comparing them to the contrasting styles of Roger Waters and David Gilmour of PINK FLOYD. In a separate interview with WRIF radio, Sanderson spoke about Adam’s return, emphasizing the sense of nostalgia and family within the band. He noted that having two singers and additional guitars opens up new creative possibilities. The “Mayday” video was described as a fun project, with a theme of navigating life at high speed. Sanderson confirmed that a new album is in the works, with plans to complete it by the end of the year and finish recording in January.

The band will tour with DISTURBED and embark on a headline tour later in the year, aiming to release the new album a few months after recording is finished.
