Norwegian rock band Wig Wam, featuring Glam (Åge Sten Nilsen) on lead vocals, Teeny (Trond Holter) on guitar, Flash (Bernt Jansen) on bass, and Sporty (Øystein Andersen) on drums, has released a video for their new single “Human Fire.”
The band’s album “Out of The Dark” was ranked 14 on the Sleaze Roxx Readers’ Top 20 Albums of 2023. Sleaze Roxx commented on the band’s resurgence, noting:
“Since reuniting in 2019, Norwegian glam rockers Wig Wam have been on an upward trajectory. Their promotion efforts received a significant boost in 2022 when their song ‘Do Ya Wanna Taste It’ was selected as the opening theme for HBO Max’s series ‘Peacemaker,’ and ‘In My Dreams’ was included in the soundtrack.
This exposure likely contributed to ‘Out of The Dark’ being voted 14 on Sleaze Roxx’s Top 20 Albums of 2023. Wig Wam is capitalizing on their renewed momentum, even embarking on a small tour in the United States, a rare feat for European bands of their era. Although Sleaze Roxx readers acknowledged only their latest album in the year-end list, Wig Wam’s earlier works are also noteworthy. These include albums such as ‘667.. The Neighbour of The Beast’ (2004), ‘Hard To Be A Rock’n Roller’ (2005), ‘Wig Wamania’ (2006), ‘Live In Tokyo’ (2007), ‘Non Stop Rock’n Roll’ (2010), ‘Wall Street’ (2012), and ‘Never Say Die’ (2021).”
