Will Former Voyage Singer Hugo Valenti Become The New Singer Of Journey?

The Journey tribute band Voyage recently announced on social media that their longtime vocalist, Hugo Valenti, has left the group after 20 years. This news led to fan speculation about Valenti’s future, particularly regarding a possible role with the real Journey band. In their statement, Voyage expressed gratitude for their time with Valenti, wishing him success in his future endeavors. They also shared their excitement about the band’s next phase, reaffirming their commitment to delivering an authentic Journey experience. Voyage is looking forward to their new chapter with Pedro Espada as their vocalist.

A black-and-white video of Espada performing Journey’s 1983 hit “Faithfully” was shared to introduce him to fans. Speculation arose among fans about Valenti’s departure, with many suggesting he might join Journey as their lead vocalist. Although there is no official confirmation, one fan commented on the possibility of Valenti joining Journey, and others recalled his potential candidacy for the band after Steve Perry’s departure. Meanwhile, Journey’s current lead vocalist, Arnel Pineda, has faced criticism, especially after a Rock in Rio performance marred by technical issues.

Despite the criticism, Pineda has stated he intends to stay with the band and has challenged fans on social media to indicate if they want him to step down. As for Voyage, they have not provided details on Valenti’s departure but will begin their next tour on January 24 in Bethlehem, PA, with Pedro Espada as the new lead vocalist.

To me Arnel was never the right fit.I grew up listening to Journey and had chances to see them in concert when they came to Toronto Canada but chose not to cause of the lead singer. It’s a great story for Arnel to rise to fame like he did. With Hugo it would like walking down memorie lane for a lot of Journey fans and the man can write his own songs.
